Open-everything.

We live in the era of standardization of every matter protocol and format. Hard to say who was first in this hype train. I remember how CNCF started the generalization of the xDS protocol from Envoy, and it was the first of that kind of project for me. After that, OpenTelemetry jumped on that hype train, and now it’s one of the most popular CNCF project since k8s(which i don’t like, but we will talk about that in the future). It’s logical because the world of telemetry is very separated – no wonder community is concerned about that. Guys from CNCF recently launched the first release of “OpenTelemetry, but for feature flags " called OpenFeature 🙂 This model is similar to OpenTelemetry and provides a shared, standardized feature flagging client - an SDK - which can be plugged into various 3rd-party feature flagging providers. I’m curious about where it’s all going and how it will be adopted in opensource.
